Are you sure you want to see India as another U.S.A?
I am not a really good writer or one who has a very good vocabulary. What you are going to read ahead is absolutely simple English with no exaggeration and with this very simple English, I wish to convey a message which probably has not been understood by many till today.
We have been talking and continue to talk about wanting to see our very motherland, India, like the world “superpower” U.S.A. It is not one or two, but every single person (which includes kids and experienced old citizens) who says this. And what is the basis for us making this statement over and over again? Industrial booms, best technologies & fashionable lifestyle? That’s it? Hey, think again.
My grandfather often tells me what Indian culture has and its extensive depths. And I go like: Yeah Naanaji, I know that. And then he tells me, we are the only country in the world to have preserved our culture, our traditions, our respect, our bonds and everything with an “our” and not “my”. This may look like a very philosophical and boring topic, but as I said, think again. Do you also wish to continue with “traditions” and idolize a nation with no bonds between brothers, children, and parents? We are blindly feeling inferior to a nation where human values have become the last priority?
Do you want to see your 9 year old kid having a death stick in his mouth all day long? Or you, as a parent, come to know that your child is lost into drugs and is lying in some corner of a street? And well, even in that case, you wouldn’t care about it and say: He can find his way back. Or do you want an India where parents are mere financers in the early part of their children’s’ life? And where kids want independence, at the tender age of 13? And it will seem to be nothing new to be abused by your own blood in front of your friends.
We have seen an India where communal wars are very common. But, we definitely don’t want to see an India where a bullet is shot into your loved ones head only on the basis of his/her colour? Lets get down to the ruthless facts. We don’t want a motherland where all the relationships are based on lies. Where no one has any guilt for cheating, fraud or murder. We surely don’t want a Swades where pornography is the most “wildspread” profession, and the life-giver and only income source for many people.
Do you want to live a life, where sometimes a case is filled against you and you are sued for doing “NOTHING”? Or well, you want to live one of the most expensive life in this world and still be called, “middle class”.
It’s the way you like it. You rush away from your country, your people, and your soil for getting into a place where you later realize that no one, utterly no one cares for you. Where people don’t tolerate anyone with a colour other than theirs and you end up being sunken in a clerky job? And most importantly, you want your country to be like that country where you either live in a dead hot area or chilled place where the other kind of temperatures never existed!
India is still good, still great, realize that soon before its too late. We often neglect or forget these harsh facts when we are lost in the dreams to be visiting this dictator-land. Its all upto you, either sacrifice those momentary pleasures or go ahead to live this life. You know, people did not care for who Swami Vivekananda was until he got recognized by the westerners. We suddenly realize what we have in plenty, when those people notice it. We don’t care about it, leave alone being proud. We are adopting everything which makes our situation worse, from them. Hey, love what you have, treasure it. Because if you do so, you’ll feel much happier. Do what you can for your country, everyone cannot land into politics! And if you really hate the way things are going in our country, improve them, but don’t crib!

But i must point sumthin out here....
Last year around this time i had gone 2 US wid my family. N in New york we crossed Ground Zero. Lookin at the rubble n the brickz n jst imaginin the cries of the ppl who mite have been trapped in the buildingz on 87th floor n such, filled with smoke, rubble evrywhere, unable 2 c, stubblin on only 2 find your office buddy, who u used 2 car pool with, the one hu u used 2 gossip 2 over the water dispenser, lyin dead with eyes wide open...thousands dead n missin, disfigured 4 life, leavin behind scattered families......it was 2 much 2 bear such toughts 4 me. bt not for the other visitorz. Many ppl (americanz, by the look of most n sum europeans) were takin photographz of themselves standin in front of the fencing and smilin into the camera.
It made me sick,
How can u smile in front of a death bed 4 thousandz????? How can u even take a picture of sumthin which serves of only a scar on the face of humanity, remindin us wat cruel n insolent species of a beast we r, for i ask u, which animal will kill its own kind for absolutely NO reason????

So true there, Divz. I myself made a trip to New york this summer and the same stuffs keeps on happenin. the monument and Empty Space which indicates Zero, was as usual filled with happy people taking pictures and such stupid nonsense. i felt the same thing because it was as if there was no point in commemmorating such tragedy with such people(Although its not the entire American population.) Another example: when we talk about a serious tragedy or issue such as WW2 or Sept11, many students in my class, just ignore or sleep about it b/c they are expecting the same old seminar or discussion. it just doesn't make sense. No matter how many tragedies, these people go through, it's only the inital momment where everyone is thunderstruck, upset and be patriotic, and then later to make up for all this stuff, they invent things like a I LOVE NEW YORK T-shirt, with a big "heart" on it. What the heck is the point of the heart?? Guess thats why Hollywood producers and directors released a commeommorating movies such as World Trade Center so soon in comparison to the release of Hollywood Pearl Harbor, so that such dumb people can actually see it and not forget it.
